You may be aware from media coverage that the National Education Union have declared strike action, which will take place on: 

Wednesday 1 February 2023
Thursday 02 March 2023
Wednesday 15 March 2023
Thursday 16 March 2023 

The strike is happening because of a national dispute between the National Education Union and the government over teachers’ pay.  

I am making contact with you now to give you as much notice as possible that learning may be disrupted on these dates. We are considering a number of options, including school closure and / or moving some lessons on line.  

We recommend that you start to make alternative childcare arrangements for these dates. 

I am truly sorry about the potential disruption to you and to your child’s education.  

I understand that this situation may be frustrating, and I know that all members of our school community will continue to treat each other with respect.  

Brockhill Park Performing Arts College is committed to providing a safe and secure environment for our students and delivering high-quality teaching. However, the sheer size of our beautiful site together with the large number of buildings present unique challenges in the context outlined above. 

We are now working to identify the potential impact on our operations for Wednesday, February 1^st and will update you with final arrangements for that day by the end of next Thursday.
