19th April 2024

Dear Parents and students

Thank you for your support of us this week.

Today, we welcomed Damian Collins OBE MP to school. Mr Collins chatted with Young Farmers on the Farm, as they begin their preparations for the County Show, before taking part in a Q & A session with our Government & Politics A level students.

On Tuesday, Mr Pawlica accompanied 35 students from across the age range travelled to the Folkestone Silver Screen Cinema to watch the film One Love, Bob Marley. Elsewhere, our footballers represented us at the 3 Hills Go Lead Girls’ football event.

Representatives from the National Citizen Service spoke to our Year 11 and 12 students on Wednesday about residential opportunities over the summer. National Citizen Service

Elsewhere, 10 of our students in Years 7 & 8 have been invited to design a logo for the Folkestone & Hythe Food Network.

This afternoon, we are sending 789 commendation certificates and mails to parents, where teachers have nominated students for engagement with their remote learning tasks on Thursday, March 28th. By 1.30pm today, students had earned 3021 Excellent Effort Points for submission of personal best home- or classwork assignments.

We continue our focus with Years 11 & 13 on preparations for Public Examinations beginning so very soon.

A number of Year 11 students have attended morning GCSE English revision classes this week starting at 7am! Facing forward to their Public Examinations in this way is very impressive! We will remain mindful and will be watchful of student welfare and well-being in these crucial weeks.

Sixth Form Induction for our current Year 11 students takes place over 3 days from Monday, June 24th – Wednesday, June 26th.

Before Easter, we welcomed the musician Professor Grenville Hancox to Brockhill. We are looking forward to Professor Hancox becoming a regular visitor to Brockhill and his opening further that window on the world for our students. The Sacconi Chamber Music Festival in May offers events free to under 25s and at a modest entry price for all. Sacconi Chamber Music Festival

Have a lovely weekend.

Yours sincerely,

Charles Joseph

Principal
