It has been a pleasure to welcome all the students back to school over these past 2 weeks and to see so many parents attending our Meet the Academic Tutor and Information Evenings.  Our focus is to get on with teaching and learning in the classroom as quickly as we possibly can to ensure an excellent school year for children in all Year Groups.

I was delighted with our Public Examination results this summer and would like to thank all parents and families for their love and support of the students as well as the students themselves for all their hard work. We will write frequently during the academic year about the importance of 98%+ attendance to school and how high attendance is such a driver of Public Examination outcomes.

Our own initial analysis of the summer GCSE results for last year’s Year 11 students shows just that. This is near identical to summer 2025.

The difference in outcomes for a student with 95% attendance and 90% attendance is stunning.

I am delighted that Mr Haisell has now taken up his position as Principal. His work lies behind so much innovation and development across our curriculum, as well as our highly successful Ofsted Inspection in January of this year. Mr Haisell will be writing to you all during the coming week about his plans for taking this work forward as we set out on this academic year.
