Letter to Parents 18th September 2026

September 18th 2026

Dear Parents

It has been a pleasure to welcome so many of you to the Meet the Academic Tutor and Information Evenings. Thank you to so many of you for your kind and encouraging comments to my colleagues as they get stuck into the academic year. Your support is vital and means so much. We are delighted by the parental survey feedback and as ever will respond individually to any query or concern raised.

Our focus is to get on with teaching and learning in the classroom as quickly as we possibly can to ensure an excellent school year for children in all Year Groups.

Mr Haisell and I held assemblies with all Year Groups last week and spoke to students about the importance of working hard on class and homework, representing themselves and Brockhill to the highest standards and crucially of being kind to and showing care for each other. As ever, it was an absolute pleasure to meet with the students.

Our Presentation Evenings were a very enjoyable event and enabled us to celebrate the achievements of so many students.

Lunchtime and after school clubs are now up and running, and we are offering a range of club activities. Please encourage your daughter or son to join a club, as these enrichment activities are both really enjoyable and helpful to students’ development. Please see CLUBS listed on our website.

As of this morning, teachers had awarded a total of 6,454 Excellent Effort points to students this week. We really want to celebrate the effort and commitment of our students. Separately, we are sending more than 456 letters and commendations to parents of students who engaged well around their summer assignments.

We will shortly start back up our loans system for IT equipment. If you would like your child to borrow a laptop please make your request to office@brockhill.kent.sch.uk and we will be pleased to help. Our technicians will work to meet requests just as quickly as they can, but this may take a few days.

We are making a number of changes to our systems for this academic year. Please see:

Through the academic year, we will talk with students about staying safe online. The link here may be useful. What Parents and Carers Need To Know about Telegram

In case you missed it, we contacted you earlier this week about forthcoming vaccinations to be offered by the Kent NHS Foundation Trust’s Immunisation Service. INFORMATION

As a reminder, all students must wear the correct PE kit for lessons: a PE shirt with shorts or a skort. In adverse weather, students may also wear a suitable sports jacket. However, thick school coats restrict movement and are therefore not permitted during PE lessons. Uniform is available from the Channel Uniform Shop.

Have a lovely weekend.

Yours sincerely
