Letter to Parents 9th October 2026

October 9th 2026

Dear Parents

We had awarded 5272 Excellent Effort Points as of the end of morning break today. Behind each one of these lies vital family support. Thank you, parents and families for all your support and encouragement!

This week, 251 students from all Year Groups have variously participated in and won their football fixtures, the Ashford and Shepway cross country championship hosted at Brockhill, played golf at Hythe Golf Club, visited the Warner Bros Film Studios and the Tower of London, as well as Canterbury Crown Court. I am forever grateful to my colleagues, who organise these activities and trips for the students in addition to their classroom teaching and the after school clubs they run!

Separately, Mr Simpson has organised and hosted talks for Year 9 and 10 about drug and alcohol addiction from the Kenward Trust.

Punctuality and personal organisation are vital life skills, and we speak regularly to students about this. Where students are regularly late in the morning or later in the day to lessons, this is disruptive to the teaching and learning of all. Please ensure you can access the SIMs Parent App, and if you have any problems doing so, please contact us at office@brockhill.kent.sch.uk

As per our calendar and by way of reminder, Parent Subject Consultation Days will take place online for Years 11 & 13 on Friday, October 23rd and Years 10 & 12 on Monday, November 2nd. Students will carry out their learning at home on line Friday, October 23rd and Monday, November 2nd. They will work on and submit assignments, which will be set in Google Classroom. No student should attend school on these days. We will then look forward to welcoming students back to on site learning at Brockhill on Tuesday, November 3rd.

Term Dates and Other Important Dates 2026 -27

Our Sixth Form Open Evening for Year 11 students and their parents takes place on site on Tuesday, November 10th.  During the evening, we will be talking about post 16 applications and study in general and at Brockhill Park Sixth Form in particular. We will write separately to Year 11 parents about this next week. NB – please do not confuse this event with the online Year 11 Parents’ Subject Consultation Day, on Friday, October 23rd. We will write separately to parents in Year 11 about the Sixth Form Open Evening after half-term.

Yours sincerely,

Charles Joseph

Executive Principal
