Letter to Parents 6th November 2026

November 6th 2026

Dear Parents and Students

This week has simply flown by.

Mr Boston has addressed students about Remembrance and the direct effects of events during the two World Wars on our local area via tannoy announcement each morning.

Students have also undertaken Remembrance activities in their Daily Tutor Groups and the Brockhill minute’s silence will be observed with a reading on Wednesday, November 11th at 11am. I am delighted that our students have again sold poppies with members of the Royal British Legion in local supermarkets most mornings this week and designed and created a Remembrance window in Hythe High Street.

Following our activities early last half-term to support Jeans for Genes and the British Red Cross’s Nepal Flood Emergency a local business donated more than one thousand pounds in support of these charities. They wish to remain anonymous but deserve our thanks and admiration. So much that I encounter and see in our local area as well as here at school represents the best of us all and of society.

Beyond the classroom and Remembrance activities, 30 Year 8 students visited Lingfield Park Racecourse on Tuesday and participated in ‘Racing to School’ Maths related activities. On Wednesday, students from the University of Kent visited us and ran a Forensic Science Workshop about Crime Scene Investigation for 90 Year 11 and Sixth Form students. Also on Wednesday, Kent Police delivered an assembly and workshop to 229 Year 9 students about Misogyny and Violence against Women and Girls. Finally, last night our Year 7 & 8 football teams did us proud against the Harvey Grammar School.

A reminder from our NHS colleagues to parents who have not completed the consent form for Seasonal Flu vaccination. You can visit: https://www.kentimmunisations.co.uk/ and select Seasonal Flu to complete the consent form. Your school code is: KT137458

Last year, I requested contributions to the School Voluntary Fund for the first time since 2021. I had not done so on account of the economic and financial challenges of these past years. I am again making that request and have kept the request to a modest £2 per month.

This fund allows us to maintain a reserve in case of emergency and offer access to school trips, clubs and uniform for all.

We are requesting each family donate £2 per month by standing order.

Bank: Lloyds TSB

Account Name: Brockhill Park Performing Arts Voluntary Fund

Sort Code: 30-93-34

Account No: 02941356

For the payment reference, please just use your surname / donation. We will be so grateful for your support. Alternatively, you could make a single payment of £24 or take a cheque, payable to Brockhill Park Performing Arts College to our school reception in a sealed envelope.

Thank you!

We are grateful to our families for all their support getting their daughters and sons into school and ready to learn each day. This support is so vital and has enabled us to send 3046 Excellent Effort Points since Tuesday morning. A great note on which to end the week!

Have a lovely weekend.

Yours Sincerely,

Charles Joseph

Executive Principal
