Art Exam Letter
Dear Parents/Guardians,
Your son/daughter will soon be coming to the end of the period of time they have remaining to complete their Art and Design or Photography Coursework Portfolio (60% of overall grade). We have set this date as Friday 18th January. The expectation is that all of the work for students final project (what they have been working on since September) and work from previous years (which we will help them be selective over what they submit) will be handed in in their last lesson of the week in their large A1 portfolios to their subject teacher who will then store the work in locked storage until final assessment time. Please do support your son/daughter in ensuring their work is completed according to guidance from their subject teacher, mounted and ready to submit.
Following this, in lessons the next week students will receive their exam paper from which they will select one of the questions to develop as their theme for the Externally Set Assignment; staff will guide students through this and make suggestions of ideas and ways to pursue their work. They will have a number of weeks in which to complete all of the development work for this unit and in the final 2 days will produce their outcome in exam conditions. The dates for the exams are as follows:
Art GCSE: Prep day: 24th April
Exam days: 25th and 26th April
Photography GCSE: Prep day: 3rd April
Exam days: 4th and 5th April
Once these days are over the courses are then complete; it is imperative that students use the time they have now to ensure they get the most from these courses.
Students are welcome to join us on Tuesdays 3-4, Wednesdays 3-4 and Thursdays 3-5 to use the time they have to work on completing work for their portfolio.
Please do get in touch with me via email should you wish to discuss any of these points with me and seek further clarification.
Kind Regards
MCrossland
