Letter to Parents of self-isolating Year 9 students
November 27th 2020
Dear Parents/ Guardians
Thank you for your ongoing support of your child during their period of self-isolation.
Students should complete classwork set in their Google Classroom and work through the school day as per their school timetable. Work set by the teachers appears under the ‘Materials’ tab for each lesson. This work should account for the bulk of each 50 minute lesson.
From Monday, we will start sending Webex or Google Meet invitations for most lessons, so your child can ‘attend’ at least part of some of their lessons live.
School uniform will not be obligatory for the sessions, but students should be dressed appropriately and our normal ground rules will apply during the sessions. Students should be seated at a desk or table, activate their camera and show their full name for these live face-to-face sessions. At times during the lesson teacher microphones will be turned off and their screens will not be shared. At these times students should just be completing the work set for them.
We will not be recording these sessions and students must not either.
Clearly, this is a First for us All and we will review these arrangements daily as we go along. Yours Sincerely,
Sonette Schwartz
