On Monday, February 22nd and Thursday, April 1st all Year Groups will be set work for their lessons in Google Classroom, which they will complete at home and submit by the end of each day.
Our colleagues at Folkestone & Hythe District Council have provided us with information about support available across the district for residents and businesses:
https://www.folkestone-hythe.gov.uk/community-hub
We are also providing you with our Digital Library for this half-term with links to recommended titles for students in each year group to read. Reading is so very important and we ask that you encourage your child to undertake at least 20 minutes of reading each day. Educational research shows that students, who read more perform better in Public Examinations. Students may choose a title HERE.
Students must not come into school if they need to self -isolate under prevailing Gov.uk guidance. Anyone self-isolating with symptoms must access testing and engage with the NHS Test and Trace process. If a symptomatic student attends school, parents will be contacted and the student will be isolated until they can be picked up. We will require written proof of a negative COVID-19 test prior to readmitting any student, who has been self -isolating or was sent home with symptoms of COVID-19.
Below an extract from the most recent Gov.uk Guidance:
Self-isolation
A small number of children and young people may be unable to attend in line with public health advice to self-isolate because they:
· have had symptoms or a positive test result themselves
· live with someone who has symptoms or has tested positive
· are a close contact of someone who has coronavirus (COVID-19) and are requested to do so by NHS Test and Trace or the PHE advice service
If your child is identified as a close contact of someone who has tested positive for coronavirus (COVID-19) and is asked to self-isolate, you and other members of your household (including any other children in the same school) do not need to self-isolate unless your child, who is self-isolating, subsequently develops symptoms.
If your child has been a close contact of someone who has tested positive, and subsequently develops symptoms but has a negative test result, they will still need to self-isolate for the full 14 days.
Thank you for your continued support.
Yours Sincerely,
Sonette Schwartz Charles Joseph
Principal Senior Vice Principal
