Letter to parents 27th April
April 27th 2021
Dear Parents / Guardians and Students
Thank you for your support of us as we have got the students underway this term.
As we move forward this and next half-term we will be seeking to involve as many students as possible from all Year Group in our University Collaborative Project: - this involves students participating in a range of mostly subject related online activities hosted by university staff and students with our staff in attendance. Through these activities we hope to inspire students and provide a ‘window on the world’ at a time when we are not in a position to take students on the Trips and Visits, which are such an important part of school life.
This week, we are focusing with students on the importance of bringing equipment to school, which they need for learning along with their Student Planners, so we can resume habits of students recording and planning their homework themselves. Please take a moment to check that your daughter or son is ‘school ready.’ We continue to make clear to students our expectations around uniform and the requirement to have mobile phones turned off and in bags during and when travelling to and from lessons, along with our general in school routines. Where students do not comply with these simple rules in respect of mobile phones and disrupt the learning of others we may confiscate phones and only return to parents or where we judge appropriate exclude a student.
Please be aware that the Country Park camera is equipped with ANPR, which seems to catch you and generate a parking fine if you enter their approach road at all. This is something over which we unfortunately have no control.
We continue testing students once weekly as per our regular schedule for the summer term.

Today, parents of Year 8 students will receive further information in respect of Learning Pathways via separate letter.
If you missed the survey in respect of post pandemic planning for young people, we would ask that you go through the survey with your daughter or son and have them submit a response if they and you wish to participate. The survey enables fully anonymised responses.
Young people in the UK: how have you been affected by the pandemic?
Thank you again for your support of the children and us.
Yours Sincerely,
