Letter to parents 19th April
April 19th 2021
Dear Parents / Guardians
We are very happy to welcome students back to school today. The return to on site learning from March 8th was highly successful on account of your support and enabled us to prepare with students for this doubtless very busy summer term.
This term we want all our students to aim for 100% attendance, punctuality and submission of their personal best standard of class and homework assignments. Where you have any questions about information you receive in your weekly Guardian Summary in respect of your daughter or son’s learning please do get in touch. Please ensure your daughter or son submits their Easter holiday revision assignments in the Google Classroom (Years 11 and 13 students) or Homework due for submission after the holiday.
For Years 11, 12 & 13 we will resume after school sessions from tomorrow as per the timetable of our Letter to Parents of Years 11, 12 & 13 students of March 11th. Students and their parents should be aware that the students have every possibility of improving on current Grades from their last Assessments in all of their subjects. Centre Assessed Grades for A levels and GCSEs will be based on moderated teacher judgements informed by samples of assessed work, which we will be undertaking between now and June, as well as assessment tasks already undertaken. All students need to commit to 100% attendance and completion of their best standard class and homework. We want the Best from and for every student!
For information about the Year 8 Learning Pathways Virtual Presentations scheduled for April 27th please see our separate Letter to Parents of Year 8 Students – April 19th.
From the outset this week, we are making clear to students our expectations around uniform and the requirement to have mobile phones turned off and in bags during and when travelling to and from lessons , along with our general in school routines. Where students are not dressed in appropriate uniform / office wear for Sixth Form they will be sent home to change.
In respect of Covid-19 our arrangements will remain very cautious and are unchanged from our Arrangements for March and Beyond Letter to Parents of March 9th. We will take time in school talk to students about the importance of remaining vigilant and cautious.
We will continue testing students once weekly as per our regular schedule in the summer term.
