Letter to parents 21st April
April 21st 2021
Dear Parents / Guardians and Students
Thank you for your support of us as we start back up for this summer term.
Today, we are providing you with the link to what we believe will be a highly influential survey in respect of post pandemic planning for young people. The survey enables fully anonymised responses and we would ask that you go through the survey with your daughter or son and have them submit a response if they and you wish to participate.
Young people in the UK: how have you been affected by the pandemic?
We also believe discussion about these questions between parents and their children about these matters will be both interesting and informative.
Centre Assessed Grades for A levels and GCSEs will be based on moderated teacher judgements informed by samples of assessed work, which we will be undertaking between now and June and for which students must be present in school, as well as assessment tasks already undertaken.
After school sessions have now resumed as per the timetable of our Letter to Parents of Years 11, 12 & 13 students of March 11th. Students and their parents should be aware that the students have every possibility of improving on current Grades from their last Assessments in all of their subjects. All students need to commit to 100% attendance and completion of their best standard class and homework. We want the Best from and for every student!
We will provide parents of Year 8 students with a link to our Learning Pathways video presentation after school on Tuesday, April 27th as per our
Letter to Parents of Year 8 Students – April 19th.
We are making clear to students our expectations around uniform and the requirement to have mobile phones turned off and in bags during and when travelling to and from lessons, along with our general in school routines. Where students do not comply with these simple rules in respect of mobile phones and disrupt the learning of others we may confiscate phones and only return to parents or where we judge appropriate exclude a student.
In respect of Covid-19 our arrangements will remain very cautious and are unchanged from our Arrangements for March and Beyond Letter to Parents of March 9th. We will take time in school talk to students about the importance of remaining vigilant and cautious.
We want all our students to remain safe by following the National Guidance
COVID-19 Coronavirus restrictions: what you can and cannot do
as well as to remember social distancing, hand washing and face coverings, so as to play their part in the fight against the spread of COVID-19.
Please remember to keep ordering Lateral Flow Test Kits for you and all your family.
