Dear Parents / Guardians

Thank you for all your support of your children and us as we start this new school week.

If you did not receive your weekly Guardian Summary in respect of your daughter or son’s learning last week please contact us and we will resend an invitation.

Today, we are enclosing our Digital Library for the autumn term. It contains a range of exciting and enjoyable books to read for each year Group from Years 7 – 13. We want to encourage all our students to read for pleasure. Please ensure they choose a book and read each day for at least 20 minutes. Research evidence is very clear in respect of students who read daily understanding and achieving so much more highly across their school subjects.

We would like to remind you that students will be learning remotely on Friday, October 22nd and again on Monday, November 1^st with work set in Google Classroom for all students. Students should stick to their normal timetable and work on those tasks through the day and submit all work at the end of the day. Teachers will also set Homework Assignments in Google Classroom as per the Homework Timetable. No online live lessons will take place with teachers. No student should attend school on Friday, October 22^nd or Monday, November 1st. We will write separately to parents of Years 11 & 13 students next week about booking of appointments for the Years 11 & 13 Parents’ Consultation Day on Friday, October 22^nd and to parents of Years 10 & 12 students about the Years 10 & 12 Parents’ Consultation Day on Monday, November 1^st. Both Parents’ Consultation Days will run remotely via SchoolCloud.

 

We have not yet been contacted by the NHS with proposals for COVID-19 vaccinations at Brockhill. We will let you know, just as soon as we receive this information. We will continue to test students once weekly as per the schedule below until at least the end of this term. Please test your child at home 3 or 4 days apart from each in school test.

Where however we are concerned by possible cases in a class, we may increase the frequency of in school testing.  Please remember to keep ordering Lateral Flow Test Kits for your family. Order Rapid Lateral Flow Tests
