May 6th 2022
Dear Parents / Guardians
Thank you for your support this and last week getting the students back into school punctually each day, ready to learn in correct uniform and with all the necessary equipment. Your support is essential and very much appreciated.
This is a short half-term and we will be asking teachers to nominate for commendation in just 2 weeks from now. Please let your daughter or son know.
As part of Kent County Council’s Reconnect offer, leisure centres across Kent are providing a range of opportunities to families. Please see the Reconnect Leisure Centre Offer

This and next half-term, we will be continuing to ensure students access as many extra-curricular opportunities as possible. This week has been busy for our students: - They have variously prepared for District Sports’ events, participated in a swimming competition at Ashford School, whilst Animal Care students have visited the Kent ‘Living Land’ event and Years 11 & 13 students have commenced practical examinations. A number of students are also involved in Duke of Edinburgh activities this weekend. We thank all students for their participation and engagement!
Since we returned to school on Wednesday, April 20th we have had 35 students and 3members of staff test positive for COVID-19 –15 more students and 1 more teacher than when we last wrote to you on April 29th. We continue to support and encourage students who wish to wear face coverings in class and on school transport. We are monitoring the currently improved situation with a view to reducing Lateral Flow Testing and limiting this to where we have concerns about a group or groups of students.
We wish all our students and their families a peaceful weekend.
Yours Sincerely,
Sonette Schwartz Charles Joseph
Executive Principal Principal
