Letter to parents 10th March
March 10th 2021
Dear Parents / Guardians
All has again run smoothly today with Lateral Flow Testing today and Years 13 – 9 have now completed their first test. Our testers have commented on the universal politeness of the students and so very many of them making use of the simple word ‘Thank you’ as they have completed their test.
Lateral Flow Testing twice weekly for all school aged students, their families and school staff is a key control measure designed to guard against asymptomatic transmission of COVID – 19 as schools reopen. If you have not already ordered your test kits for members of your family, please do so. Order Rapid Lateral Flow Tests
It is our current intention to test students 4 times on a weekly schedule – the same days for each Year Group as this week - until at least the end of this term, and we expect to receive sufficient supplies to do this. Please test your child at home 3 or 4 days before each in school test.
We have received a number of telephone enquiries from parents about matters, which we cover in our letter:
Arrangements for March 8th and Beyond
We understand a small number of students were refused transport to school today, as they were not wearing face coverings. We fully support the bus companies in this decision.
Teachers continue their teaching of Live Online lessons to lower Year Groups, and it is vital that students attend 100% of these in advance of their return to on site learning.
The Daily Tutor Time activity tomorrow is:
Thursday - PSHE
Students should access these materials and submit their work to their Daily Tutor at the end of the day.
As each Year Group returns, they should report to their Daily Tutor Registration period by 8.30am.
If your daughter or son is in Years 8 or 7 please look at our short video demonstration with your daughter or son about how we are running lateral flow testing at school, before they return to site. Lateral Flow Test - A walkthrough for students - YouTube
